This beautiful birdseye carrier is made special for Merry by a New England boxmaker.  It measures 11” x 8” x 4 ½” with a stationary handle.  There is a sampler band on one side and a poem Merry wrote on the other side.  In addition to the bands being mounted in the carrier, there is a mattress type pincushion on one end and an open ended box to hold a needlebook on the other end.

Stitched on 30-count overdyed linen with ‘over 1’ cross stitch, detached chain, Nun Stitch and Rhodes Stitch.
